Our home is located on a quiet residential street in the city center of Milwaukee. We are just a few blocks away from two major public transit lines, restaurants, and retail stores. The home is multi-unit, with a one-bedroom apartment located on the third level of the home. The main level features two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. There is an additional rec room on the garden level that allows extra space for members to relax or exercise. A third bedroom located on the garden level is also available for rent. A fenced-in backyard complements the home, allowing members to garden in designated areas or sit and relax in the seating area. A washer and dryer are free to use, along with a small storage space for keeping extra items.
We have 24-hour surveillance cameras that provide a 360-degree view both inside and outside of the home. There are no cameras in bathrooms or bedrooms.
All doors feature a keyless entry lock that requires a dedicated code for each member to enter. For added privacy, the home features a secure fence surrounding the backyard.
Our home comes fully furnished and includes new bed linens for each new member. Pots and pans, basic cooking utensils, silverware, plates, and cups are available for each member to use.
Cleaning supplies and dish soap are provided at the start of each month
Members are responsible for supplying their own food, personal hygiene products, body soap, towels, laundry detergent, and all other items they need to care for themselves.
A computer and printer are available for members to use when requested, along with a landline. We also have an open garden space in the back of the home for long-term stay members to utilize their green thumbs! In the spring, we grow a variety of vegetables in our garden that are available for members to pick and use in their meals. We also feature a small exercise area with seating and a TV to relax on the garden level of the home.
We do not require a large security deposit to move in. A one-time, non-refundable Start-Up Fee of $250 is due upon moving in, in addition to your first week or month's program fee. The community fee can be split into four installments. Program fees are due Monday morning if paying weekly or bi-weekly, or the first day of the month for monthly paying members.
Program members must be 100% independent to reside in our home. Bunk & Bloom is not an assisted living facility. There are no nursing staff or caregivers. Members must be able to fully take care of themselves without the assistance of others.
Members are free to come and go as they please throughout the day; however, we do implement "quiet hours" from 1:00 am- 5:00 am, which means all doors are officially locked for the evening, and members must either be in the house for the night, or they cannot get back in until the next morning at 5:00 am. Quiet hours are not meant to restrict members, but to ensure we respect and maintain the peace of the neighborhood and our neighbors.
